Information on RITA Offices and Walk-In Taxpayer Assistance

Posted On: Friday, May 28, 2021

As the availability of the COVID vaccine increases and Ohio’s Public Health Orders are being lifted, RITA is preparing for the reopening of its offices to the public.  We have made the necessary changes to our lobbies to allow us to safely reopen these spaces to taxpayers.  We will take a phased-in approach to this re-opening process, starting in July 2021, and will make available additional details about these reopening plans as they are finalized.

While we prepare to open our physical doors, we provide many contact-free alternatives to traditional in-person assistance:

At ritaohio.com , taxpayers can log in to MyAccount to file returns, make payments, review payment histories, check the status of refund requests, or send secure messages to RITA; or use FastFile to file returns without the need to create an online account.

RITA offers secure drop boxes at all of its office locations to receive tax documents and payments.  Individual taxpayers using the drop box should complete the Municipal Income Tax Drop-Off Sheet found at ritaohio.com  and include it with the dropped-off items; or provide contact information with the dropped-off items.

And, as always, our Customer Service Agents are available Monday through Friday, 8a.m. to 5p.m. to answer taxpayer questions.  Call us at 800-860-7482.    Taxpayers may also use this number to access RITA’s 24 hour automated phone system to make payments, check the status of a refund request or an  estimated payment you have made.

We look forward to welcoming taxpayers back to our offices.
